The 15th District CAPS annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner took place Nov. 17 at the Columbus Park Refectory. Each year, young women from SisterHouse help to serve dinners to the following participating facilities: Beth-Ann Residence; Central Plaza Residential Home; Jackson Square Nursing Center; Burnham Apartments; Columbus Manor Residential; Crestwood Apartments; Mayfield Nursing Home; SACCC Seniors; and 11th Dist. CAPS Seniors.
Invocation was given by Rev. Columbus Ewing, Community Fellowship Baptist Church. Mistress of Ceremonies was Wilner Sanders. Welcome was done by Officer Cassandra Norman and Officer Bernice Williams. Alfred Wheeler gave a solo performance. Food catering was provided by MacArthur’s Restaurant, 5412 W. Madison. The 15th Dist. Thanksgiving Dinner Committee is also supported by the alderman of the ward, Isaac Carothers (29th).
