The South Austin Coalition Community Council celebrated its 34th year at its annual benefit dinner on Nov. 11.

This year’s Community Service Award went to SACCC’s longtime member and activist, Lillian Drummond. She was joined by friends and family at the banquet, taking place this year, again, at Regency Banquet Hall, 5319 W. Diversey . The passionate and fiery Drummond has worked or many issues with SACCC, from helping seniors to detailing with housing issues. She was the sole award recipient at this year’s dinner, which was attended by residents, clergy, political and community leaders.
