In honor of Black History Month, Oak Park’s Southtown Business District held a clothing drive, with donations going to Fathers Who Care, a local non-profit organization on the West Side of Chicago.  You can find out more about this organization by going to their website www.fatherswhocare.com

Southtown believes that as a business association, it should not only work in bettering the Southtown area but also concentrate on being charitable and giving back to the community.

Reverend Jones at Fathers Who Care requested used clothing for grammar and high school boys and girls. They are also in need of men’s and women’s clothing.  All items were dropped off at Tan Travel, 964 S. Oak Park Ave.

Clothing was delivered by Tan Travel and Divine Consign, both Southtown Business District mebmers, on Saturday Feb 23rd, to Father’s Who Care at 4540 W. Washington in Chicago.  Members of the West Garfield Park Youth Council were on hand to help unload the two truck loads of clothing.

Southtown hopes to continue to do their part to help out the neighboring communies of the West Side.
