My Family lived at 3802 W. 16th St., which was the same building but around the corner in 1965 when the King’s moved in [Exhibit highlights Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1966 visit to Chicago, Jan 30]. It was not 1966. Mrs. King would allow my baby brother, Robert, to come into her apartment and play with her son everyday. He would stay until my mom would have me go to get him. Mrs. King was so nice. I remember standing in the hallway of the apartment inside and seeing a big poster of her; she was, I think, an opera singer. I remember all of the traffic and hoopla during that time.
