I’ve always felt that to deliver a song successfully, you have to be an actress. A good actress becomes the part, just as a good singer becomes the song.
Vesta Williams (1957-2011), R&B singer. Williams, a native of Ohio, had a string of hits beginning in the 1980s, including “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” (1986) and “Congratulations” (1989). Williams died on Sept. 22, 2011.
