Mary Schmidt Campbell was appointed dean of New York City’s Tisch School of the Arts in October 1991. She served there until her retirement earlier this year. An advocate of the cultural arts for more than 30 years, Campbell has continued her advocacy work in retirement, including serving as vice chairwoman of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. She was first appointed to the committee in 2009 and reappointed in 2013.
