Riot Fest returns to Douglas Park on September 16-18, bringing temporary employment opportunities and more for the surrounding neighborhoods.

Riot Fest is a three day music festival featuring a wide scope of artists spanning various genres of music. Before arriving in Chicago, Riot Fest will be held in Denver on September 4-6.

Festival organizers will be hosting its second annual Riot Fest community job fair at Douglas Park, [XXXX], on Aug. 6, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The job fair will feature hundreds of temporary employment positions in area such as box office, ground maintenance, merchandise sales, gate attendance, general labor, information services and more. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old by Sept. 9, able to stand for eight hours and able to lift 20 pounds.

Interested applicants will need to bring with them: a completed community staff application; a photocopy of a driver’s license or state issued ID; a photocopy of a birth certificate or social security card; a W-4 form; an IL W-4 form; and an I-9 form.

Additionally, Riot Fest organizers will host a Douglas Park Beautification Initiative. The DPBI will meet at Ogden Ave. & Sacramento Ave. and take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 6 and Saturday, September 10.

All volunteers must sign a waiver to participate and are advised to bring gardening gloves and comfortable clothes. As an incentive, volunteers who complete volunteer sessions will receive a complimentary ticket to Riot Fest. Volunteers who complete a single session will receive a one-day pass and for every additional session completed the number of days for the pass increases.
