Write, paint, be heard
Enter your essay or artwork into Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin’s (1st) annual Be Heard: One Vote Can Change the World Essay & Art contest, which is open to all 3-12 grade students in Cook County.
Students, grades 3-8, create an original piece of artwork. High schools, write an original essay. Entries are due April 28. Cash prizes and laptops for all winners. For more info, contact danielle.watson@cookcountyil.gov.
Take the S.T.E.A.M. Challenge
On Wednesday, March 22, 4 p.m., at the North Austin Branch Library, take the S.T.E.A.M. Challenge. Try a science experiment, build something and play a math game. No registration required. Ages 6 and up.

Maywood Fine Arts’ Classical Ballet for New Audiences will commemorate its 10th Anniversary with a production of Sleeping Beauty on Saturday, March 25 at Trinity High School in River Forest. Read page 4 for more info.
