Chime in on the CPS budget at town hall
On Thursday, Jan. 30, 6 p.m., at Michele Clark High School, 5101 W. Harrison St.,
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) will hold the second in a series of community meetings to discuss funding strategies that will help ensure schools have the resources they need to meet the changing demographics and needs of their students.
As part of their commitment to promoting greater funding equity, Mayor Lori Lightfoot and CPS CEO Janice Jackson recently announced the district would begin a community process to identify potential opportunities to increase school funding.
To learn more about the CPS budget, the public is encouraged to review the 2020 Resident’s Guide to the Budget and CPS’ FY2020 budget at cps.edu/budget.
Attend Rep. Ford’s Get The Lead Out Town Hall
On Monday, Feb. 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Westside Health Authority Youth Development Center, 5437 W. Division St., state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford will host a Get The Lead Out Town Hall.
