Holiday showcase

Austin kids break out the season’s cheer next week in the park district’s annual holiday showcase.

Dozens of children and teens will put on their best performance in 12 different acts, all with Christmas-related themes.

The park district’s dance and theater teachers will be working with the kids across all programs, including swimming and arts and crafts, to teach them routines and skits, said parks supervisor Tebrena Howard. The program, she added, is still being finalized.

“This will be a lot of fun for the holiday,” she said.

The holiday showcase is family friendly and is free and open to the public.

It will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Austin Town Hall Park, 5610 W. Lake St.
