The popular annual Austin P.O.W.E.R. 5K hit the West Side this past weekend in a celebration of fitness on Chicago Avenue in the Soul City Corridor. Seasoned runners, walkers and even dancers joined in to tackle the 3.1 mile-course. The event began in 2015 through a partnership with the Austin African American Business Networking Association and the 15th District Chicago Police Department and continues today with further city support. P.O.W.E.R stands for People Organizing Wealth & Economic Resources.
