Celebrate Women’s History Month with great storytelling 

On Wednesday, March 27, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Glasser Auditorium, 2732 W. 15th Place, the North Lawndale Sesquicentennial Committee (NLSC) will host “Women of North Lawndale” in celebration of Women’s History Month.

This free event is the second monthly storytelling event about the unique and rich history of the community that was home to industry giants, famous musicians, and important political leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Golda Meir. North Lawndale continues to be a hidden gem in the heart of Chicago. 

Attend a mayoral forum on the West Side 

On Thursday, March 28, 6 p.m., at the Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd., the Chicago Westside Branch NAACP, Austin Coming Together and a host of partners, including Austin Weekly News and Austin Talks, will host a mayoral runoff forum featuring mayoral candidates Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. CBS 2 Reporter Dorothy Tucker will moderate.
