Take in an orchestra 

On Wednesday, April 24, 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Catalyst Circle Rock’s Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington, the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will present a free open rehearsal at the newly-renovated auditorium. 

The award-winning orchestra will be led by Music Director Jay Friedman of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and everyone in attendance is invited to hear the finished product in concert on May 12. Works to be rehearsed include The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Concerto Grosso No. 1 by Ernest Bloch, and Symphony in D Minor by Cesar Franck. Learn about paid job training 

On Thursday, April 18, 10 a.m., at Austin Coming Together, 5049 W. Harrison St., Austin Coming Together and New Moms will host a Paid Job Training for Young Moms Info Session. The program will touch on professional skills development, job coaching and educational support for mothers ages 16 to 24.
