On June 26, the first day restaurants reopened for dine-in customers as the state entered Phase 4 of its COVID-19 recovery plan, Introspect Youth Services, Inc., held a free fish fry for first responders at MacArthur’s Restaurant, 5412 W. Madison St.
The event was held so that Insight could “to show their appreciation for the hard work of our first responders,” according to a statement.
The event featured music, 2020 Census registration and free meals to first responders who were either in uniform or who showed their official IDs.
Insight is a member of the Counting on Chicago Coalition, an alliance of area organizations designed to boost participation in the 2020 Census. Counting on Chicago also sponsored the event.
Throughout its 40 years in existence, Introspect “has placed more than 40,000 young people into post-secondary institutions across the nation.”
