West Side residents can find dozens of local employers and service providers sharing opportunities, information and programs available to the community at Michele Clark High School.

The job and resource fair is organized by the 15th Chicago Police District in partnership with the workforce development organization Central States SER. Other local community and faith organizations such as BUILD Chicago and Hope Community Church also support the event.

Employers from different industries will share available openings and job opportunities. Koch Foods, Serco, Casa Central, BMO Harris Bank and Addus are among the employes who will be on-site.

In the past, similar events have also brought in representatives from local nonprofits and governmental agencies to share information about available programs for community members.

The fair is part of a violence-prevention strategy dedicated to bringing wraparound services and employment opportunities to the local community. It also builds on existing relationships between the local police force and community members who continuously collaborate to respond to the needs of local residents to reduce crime.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Michele Clark High School at 5101 W Harrison St. No pre-registration is required.
