When Meghan Markle (“MM”) first married Prince Harry (“H”), I too was like the rest of the world. We were in awe that a 1,000-year-old monarchy, which at one time was the biggest supporter of slavery, had progressed to the point that a descendant of an enslaved African could become a member of it.
After the wedding, MM was never really on my immediate radar until she did the Oprah Winfrey interview (an interview, by the way, that has literally been scrubbed off the internet). I wrote a column in March 2021 where I labeled MM a bimbo after she professed that she had never Googled anything about her future husband. I recognized a liar when I heard and saw that.
MM and H have been on a downward spiral ever since. I once preached about them that “God don’t like ugly.” The majority of the ugly things they have tried to do to make themselves successful have been failures. Even H’s book Spare was a curiosity success more than a literary one. They’ve since reportedly lost the rest of their Netflix deal and the Spotify deal.
Their recent interview announcing the startup of a group to help parents of children who had committed suicide was strange in that MM and H had no actual role to play. When pressed by correspondent Jane Pauley, MM and H gave us a word salad of meaningless phrases. H talked about suicidal signs but never told us what those signs were. It was sad listening to parents talk about their deceased children all the while seeing that MM and H were using those parents to promote themselves.
The final straw seems to have come with the recent photos of MM at a children’s charity event. It has been alleged that she was not invited and didn’t stay for the actual event. She showed up just to take pictures on the red carpet. She wore a red revealing dress that looked like something a streetwalker would wear. The dress was extremely low cut with a slit up the front. Even her most ardent supporters have critiqued her negatively because of the dress.
Sadly MM has gone from the celebrity of royalty to the number one spot on Hollywood’s D-List. Her best option now is to just go somewhere and sit down!
