Wecycle held its sixth annual street cleaning Saturday, as locals gathered to pick up trash, sweep debris and clean windows on stretches of Division Street, Central Avenue and Chicago Avenue in Austin.

The street cleaning effort ended at 5840 W. Chicago Ave., where there was food from Uncle Gene’s BBQ and music by DJ Lipgloss.
“People look forward to it. The community always comes out. That’s what we look forward to,” David Malik Fleming previously told Austin Weekly News.
Fleming founded Wecycle in 2019 as a landscaping company. Today, he said the annual street cleaning event “brings beauty and unity back to the community.”
