On Thursday June 19, 2014 the West Side Bridge Networking Group held their monthly meeting from 7:30-9am hosted by Wednesday Journal Publications of 143 S Oak Park Avenue in Oak Park.
The meeting began with 11 people in attendance but quickly grew to about 20. People from all over the community were there to become more informed on local events and services, as well as to spread the word about their own efforts. This West Side Bridge meeting brought together a true cross section of our neighborhoods with attendees like Richard Boykin, a democratic nominee for the Cook County first district; former Oak Park Village Clerk Sandra Sokol; Sarah Dean, Manager of Volunteer services at West Suburban Hospital; and Michael Radzilowsky, Attorney at Law. Discussion topics ranged from road improvements to the Farmer’s Market on North Avenue that runs every Sunday from 9am-20pm. As always, the West Side Bridge held a productive meeting with many business cards being exchanged, and ideas for events planned for the future.
Refreshments for our meeting were generously brought by West Side Business Network members, and the coffee was kindly donated by George’s, the family restaurant and pancake house that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at 145 S. Oak Park Avenue.
